United Nations, DESA, Population Division: global migration database
Provides, without restrictions, online access to a database about the stock of immigrants in over 200 countries, since the 70’s, with information from official statistical sources, namely census, records of the population and national surveys. The search results in the database can be downloaded in several formats, including Excel.

Description

Information, by country of residence, about the immigrant population by country of birth.

Source: census, records of the population and national surveys.

Time period: since 1970.

Geographical scope: world, over 200 countries.

Included variables: country of birth (or, when not available, nationality), country of residence, gender and age group.

Confidentiality limitations: information regarding countries of birth (or nationality) with less than 100 international immigrants is not presented; values in between of 1 and 9 are replace by asterisk in the cells of calculations.

The available information of each country of residence and of birth (or nationality) varies.
