Source: data from the World Bank, estimations from the United Nations and methodology presented in Ratha and Shaw (2007).
Time period (migrants): 2010 and 2013.
Time period (remittances): annual, since 2010.
Geographical scope: worldwide (over 200 countries).
Included variables (migrants): country of origin (country of birth or, when not available, nationality), country of destination (residence), stock of migrants.
Included variables (remittances): country of origin, country of destination, value of remittances (in millions of US dollars).
