Abstract 

This is the information era, where everything is connected in an uninterrupted virtual network. The evolution of technology gave way to a new society. We live fiercely awake under new meanings, new forms of interaction and with unlimited access to information, simple and immediate, traits that accompany this contemporary society. In this mass of information reaching us at the palm of our hands, mass media continue to play an important role as builders of reality and promoters of proximity. Thus, our study is part of the investigation on television media, and its main objective is the analysis of content of television programs dedicated to emigration present in Portuguese national media, namely RTP main channel and RTP International. Our main objective is to analyze how Portuguese emigration is portrayed in these media, namely at the level of narrative and discourse.
