Source: estimates of the United Nations (DESA, Population Division), based in official national statistics about the resident population born abroad (or, when not available, of foreign nationality).

Time period: 1990, 1995, 2000, 2005, 2010, 2015, 2017 and 2019.

Geographical range: all countries and regions of the world.

Included variables: country of origin, country of residence and gender.
