Since 2000, the number of Portuguese entries in the United Kingdom has been steadily increasing, more pronounced and significant since 2010. Over the period under review, there were two declines: the first, between 2004 and 2006, when entries went from 13,850 to 9,700; The second in 2009 and 2010, similar to the one that occurred in emigration to other countries, in the context of the global financial crisis. In 2013, by contrast, there was a large increase in the number of entries, reaching, for the first time, values of entries above 30,000.
Currently, the United Kingdom is the country where most Portuguese emigrate.
