The decreasing trend that had been seen since 2019 was interrupted in 2021, when the number of Portuguese arrivals in Sweden increased again (27%), in a year in which the total number of arrivals of foreigners also recorded a growth (9.8%) after four years of decline. Over the time series under analysis (2000-2021), Portuguese emigration to Swedish territory had a maximum value in 2018 (426 entries) very different from the 69 entries recorded in 2000 (minimum value of the series under analysis). However, Portuguese emigration to Sweden still represents a very small fraction of both immigration in Sweden (0.5%) and total Portuguese emigration (less than 1%).
