After a decrease in the number of Portuguese arrivals in Italy in 2020, in 2021 there is a sharp increase (+25.6%), reaching the highest value of entries in this decade and the second highest in the series under study. Over the time series under analysis (2000-2021), the number of Portuguese entries in Italy had a minimum value in 2002 (297 entries) and a maximum value in 2007 (594 entries). However, Portuguese emigration to Italy still represents a very small fraction of both immigration in this country (0.2%) and total Portuguese emigration (less than 1%).
