More than 500 Portuguese entries in Brazil in 2022
Inês Vidigal
In 2022, 562 Portuguese entered Brazil, according to data from the Brazilian Ministry of Justice and Public Security. This ministry accounted for a total of 25,061 foreigners entering Brazil, with the Portuguese accounting for 2.2% of this total. +

After in 2020 and 2021, the entry of Portuguese in Brazil was less than 500 annual entries, in 2022 there was a growth of 21.9% and more than 500 entries in Brazilian territory (562 entries). The number of Portuguese citizens entering Brazil is still far from the figure recorded in 2013: 2,904, the highest in the period under review. The recessive trend in recent years has translated into a relative loss of importance of Portuguese immigration: while in 2013 the Portuguese accounted for 4.7% of the inflows to Brazil, in 2022 they represented only 2.2%.
