Portuguese arrivals in Andorra remain low but rise again in 2022
Inês Vidigal
According to data from the Andorra Department of Statistics, 207 Portuguese entered Andorra in 2022. This agency accounted for a total of 4,270 foreigners entering the country, with the Portuguese accounting for 4.8% of immigration in that year. +

After the decrease registered in 2021, in 2022 the emigration of Portuguese to Andorra recovers, increasing by 34.4%. After a peak in 2005, emigration to this country fell sharply between that year and 2014, remaining stable at comparatively low values since then. In 2008, there was the largest drop (-54%), reflecting the abrupt and deep nature of the property crisis in Spain. In recent years, the number of Portuguese arrivals in Andorra had been increasing very slightly. The recessionary trend in recent years has resulted in a relative loss of importance of Portuguese immigration: if in 2007 the Portuguese represented 34.9% of migrant entries in Andorra, in 2022 they represented only 4.8%.
